Design is how I make sense of the world. I’m drawn to objects and experiences that feel intentional—where every detail has a purpose. My work is shaped by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a drive to create things that aren’t just visually striking but also thoughtful and impactful. Whether it’s a product, a brand, or an experience, I aim to design with clarity, function, and a strong sense of identity.
As a first-generation Japanese immigrant raised in America, my work is shaped by the duality of my cultural identity. I draw from both traditions, merging the refined craftsmanship and intentionality of Japanese design with the bold, expressive creativity that comes from growing up in a dynamic, diverse environment. I stay conscious of my youth—not as a limitation, but as an opportunity to take risks, experiment freely, and push creative boundaries. Above all, I find inspiration in the people around me—artists, builders, thinkers from all walks of life—who challenge me to see the world in new ways and translate that energy into my work.
I’m always up for an adventure. Whether it’s camping, fishing, or hiking, I love being outdoors and getting away from the noise. I also play soccer and train a little MMA, and I love to watch UFC. More than anything, I enjoy trying new things, especially when I’m with friends. If there’s a chance to learn something new or get out of my comfort zone, I’m all in.
